But where are the coconut phones! Come on, it's been a month. Plenty of time to invent coconut phones.

Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

They did build a golf course.
I'm an observant-intuitive helper. If Michael's building an aqueduct or a shower, I'd be the one handing him the most likely tool. I can also fabricate things out of other things. Like scrounging plastic and metal bits to wrap around joints in bamboo piping. Likewise, if Jack's taking out an appendix, if he explains the tools he's going to need, I can find, amend, and fabricate facsimiles from unexpected materials, and during the procedure I'd be handing him the correct tool for the job and anticipating the next one he'll need.
I probably shoulda been a scrub nurse. And in the improvisation category? I'm no MacGyver, but I get by.
I also have a grasp of how things can work, although not necessarily how they should work. For example, instead of trying to find an all-downhill route with the bamboo piping, if we run it uphill a little ways to save some length and possible leakage, spillage, or evaporation, and then downhill for a significant run, suction on the other end (pump. could be as simple as a flexible membrane over the end of the pipe to press and release to cause suction) will overcome gravity and bring the water uphill. And etc.
And if worse comes to worst, I can haul stuff, too.
I can complain a lot!
I have some dimly remembered first aid training (years ago) and a fairly strong stomach. So I could probably help Jack if necessary. Other than that, well, I think my helpfullness would be limited to saying, "I think I saw something like this on a tv show, once. If I can remember how they dealt with it, I'll let you know."
From Kristin at eonline:
Here's what Damon Lindelof (the boss man) said at the Globes, when I asked if we'll find out what the monster/beast/entity is, "I think it's a Dave-Maddie issue, which is, the audience thinks that they want Dave and Maddie to hook up, but once they do, you're like 'Aah, I wish they never hooked up!' So, despite all the people who are saying 'We wanna see the monster, we wanna know what Kate did, you must answer all these questions!,' we're comfortable just knowing the answers and holding them back until we've earned it, or until we've introduced mysteries that are even more compelling than those. At least, that's the juggling act. Eventually, everyone's gonna get really frustrated, but there's a reason why they didn't show Alien in the first reel of Alien, or the shark in Jaws. You'll learn when our characters learn."
Do you think they're all really dead on Lost?
Deadly attractive, yes! Damon says: "That's a very interesting theory. I heard that theory. We might've even talked about it once or twice. But how would you explain people dying on the show then? I mean, they're just deader, they're more dead. They're moving to a spinoff is what it is. Everybody we kill off will be on ABC Family on a much cheaper island."

Ha! I love it. The spinoff will be called Misplaced.
The spinoff will be called Misplaced.
Or Found.
Deadly attractive, yes!
Zing!
I am manual labour girl. Show me the heavy and I'll lift it.
I came out as Sawyer on that quiz though, so perhaps I wouldn't be all that helpful.
I wasn't particularly put out by the 'dropping' of the Claire storyline. I figure that most of the people on the island are a lot more worried about themselves than someone they may never even have spoken to.
