Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Because my ass is always in fucking "group 4", I never see those who pre-board. I'd have no idea if someone was in a wheelchair or not.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Of course the whole theory is sort of undermined by the fact we've seen no hint Walt knows Locke was in the wheelchair. (Have we?)

Locke told Walt a secret when he was teaching him backgammon. I don't think we know exactly what it was

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Plus there's the whole trauma of being on a plane that got torn in half, dealing with polar bears, etc. This may have distracted people a bit from playing, "What's different about that guy?" Locke's walking around without saying how odd that is, doing all this super-wilderness thing, so odds are anyone who might be thinking they saw him in a wheelchair pre-flight would immediately think, "Nah, couldn't be Locke." At least until the rest of the weirdness came to the fore. And by then they're probably focusing on the specific weirdness that's capturing or eating people.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Also, Locke himself isn't exactly unusual in appearance for someone one might see on a flight. Sure his personality is riveting, but he looks like any of a few dozen businessmen who would have been on that plane.

I'd say that people who are visually distinctive, like Claire or Sayid, would be more likely to stay in someone's memory.

Walt told Michael what the secret was in the following ep:

I believe it was something like "we are on this island for a reason."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It was "a miracle happened here".

Does this phrase scream "dreidel!" to anyone else?

Ha!

Edit: Actually, I keep mentally revising it to "A great battle happened here!" complete with Prince Humperdinck mincing around in the dust.
