I thought of all those things too. I still find it odd that not one person noticed him. Maybe it is all Walt. He seems like the observant type.

They all call Sawyer by his last name, too. It could also be the way they introduced themselves to the other passengers.

Hmmm. Is 10 young enough to be pre-borded? Because if Walt was also getting on the plane early, that might explain why he would notice Locke. (Michael might not, because he's been socialized not to stare more thoroughly, plus I'm sure he was thinking about other things.)
Of course the whole theory is sort of undermined by the fact we've seen no hint Walt knows Locke was in the wheelchair. (Have we?)

I always assumed it was supposed to be a first name. It's less goofy as one than Boone is, anyhow.
