I just don't get why she would lie about the gun back at the beginning unless she automatically defaulted to, "lie whenever anything comes up- it's better/safer that way."
I think that's part of it, though I can also understand not wanting to reveal that she's handy with a gun. People would have questions, and then she'd have to lie more. Better to lie in a way that people wouldn't pry into.

Other people had just found out there was a prisoner onboard the plane and Sawyer and Sayid were accusing each other of being same in an argument. I think she had a pretty good reason to cast suspicion away from herself (while winning people's respect at the same time).
The unexpected big waves didn't bother me that much. I figure the whole thing was filmed over a month ago, and they seemed just "there's a tropical storm 100 miles south-east of us" big and not tsunami big.
Oh, I'm sure you're right, and it was just bad timing. It struck me as an unfortunate and somewhat eerie coincidence, and took me way the hell out of the moment, but I don't see it as "inappropriate" exactly.

Me too- I just quoted Cleolinda because when I read that I remembered being a little weirded out. Nothing to do with logic, more the fact that the images are sort of brain searing. Anyway, I've always had issues/nightmares about giant waves.
Me not talk good today. Apologize for faulty logic, reasoning, grammar, and bedroom (that last part's just for TomW)

Oh, I totally get that the big waves on the show had a lot more visual impact after the last few weeks' news. Especially with the people frantically dragging their few belongings away from them.
Sawyer is damn cute. Odd that he didn't take off his pants to swim. What's up with that?
Maybe Sawyer didn't take his pants off because he's going commando.
this was totally my thought.
also agreeing with whoever said that Kate didn't know what was in that safety deposit box when she thought up the scheme of holding up the bank. not to mention that she probably couldn't just walk into the bank and use her key because she was already on the run from the law.
it's also entirely possible that the "man she loved/man she killed" was her father. the plane was an army plane, right? she's an army brat, remember?
I'm not sure *why* he didn't take his pants off. Wet jeans are nasty-uncomfortable.
it was probably just a case of censors and the like here. they had many shots in there when he was swimming that would have been...mighty racy. not that i would have minded, but yeah.
that's all i've got. back to work.
the plane was an army plane, right?
Not necessarily. It's been used as both a military and a civilian transport. The model was of the civilian version.
I almost hate to bring this up on this board, but I think they're setting Boone up to be gay, not a sister-lovin' pervert.
Consider the way that Shannon asked Boone if Locke was his boyfriend. The emphasis was all wrong for her to be mocking him for being gay. She was mocking him for choosing Locke. Also, consider that she called him "God's Gift To Women," but unlike the other dudes on the island, he has yet to cast smoldering looks at any women but his sister, and those could be well be angry smoldering looks, not sexy ones.
I was kinda disappointed with the episode, though. I wanted Kate to just fucking kill either Sawyer or Jack. That would have been peachy.

They seem to be hinting, but I think its probably a mislead.
