lisah! That's so awesome. I think I've read that EL is living in the Kailua area, so the odds are very good. Isn't that a great beach park? I was just talking to a woman I work with and she described a place she'd gone with her family a few years ago, and it was exactly that beach. Hah!
Kat and I will be there at the end of Jan - will have to try the fishburger.

She is so lucky to be living there! It's just lovely. There was hardly anybody on the beach that day due to it being the middle of the week and incredibly windy.
I also really loved the Bishop museum, a visit to which you also recommended. I didn't get to spend as much time there as I would have liked though.
I just had an amazing time all around. It was great in the ways I expected it to be (i.e. the beach, the weather, spending time with my friend) but was also just endlessly fascinating in other ways (all the cultures, mostly, the food, the languages etc.). I really want to go back and explore the other islands. Stupid not having endless supplies of money and vacation time.
Oh and now I can't stop watching Dog the Bounty Hunter on A & E. It's set there.
Glad you had such a great time! It's probably best that you didn't go wandering off into the jungle of mystery.
Yeah, you never know when you might run into a polar bear.

I did do karaoke at a colorful sort of a bar in Chinatown (it actually reminded my friend and I of the sketchy bar in my neighborhood where we would sometimes karaok). No polar bears but we did hang out with a couple of which the man was a Micronesian and the lady a transplant from Scotland who was celebrating her birthday and had been for weeks. I couldn't understand a word either said but they loved us and we loved them and many drinks were shared between us.
Also, I sang a little Neal Diamond (Sweet Caroline) with the help of a lady local whose group had been shooting us death glares all night. IT was beautiful.
So I'm twenty-nine minutes into the second episode of
Lost
and I finally understand what everyone meant when they said "WFT Polar Bear?" because, oh my god, whatthefuck, polar bear? On an island in the Pacific? No, don't tell me, I'll blow through all these episodes before I leave, but seriously. Whatthefuck.

I don't know. if i wandered into the jungle of mystery and found myself my very own Sawyer, i don't think i'd mind too much.
OK, so after picking up snippets here and there of lisah's adventures in Hawaii, I'm a) jealous in the non-malicious way, and b) kind of wanting a whole big write-up. It sounds like you had so much fun.
And, uh... topical... who saw the preview for next week? What happened?

Change "from" to "to" and this is my fantasy me.
You want to go to Scotland?
