Locke is Blackavar, btw.
(In case anyone was still mentally doing the Watership Down casting thing.)

Am I the only one who thinks that Jack and Kate are boring, one-dimensional, and annoying as hell?
No.
Compare the ambiguity of almost anything Locke says with the flat-out "tell, don't show" coming from Kate and Jack.

No.
Heh. I should have guessed.
Especially given that female screams heard by Jack before his strange encounter with Ethan.
Oh, which raises another point: Kate couldn't hear the screams, but Jack could (when he went scrambling off into the bushes again, after his altercation with Ethan, she kept saying "where are you going?" and he said "I'm following the screams" and she said "what screams?" [paraphrased]). What does that mean? Were "the others" luring him on in some way, and if so, why?
My interest in both Kate and Jack is flagging ("TELL ME SOMETHING REAL!" "I hunted deer with my daddy once!"), but damn if they didn't knock that scene with Charlie out of the park last night.
I thought they were birds or monkeys -- it wasn't until Jack freaked that I thought they might be human. I'm still of two minds.

Apparently they only emote well in concert if Charlie is also present. A solution suggests itself...
I'm glad they didn't kill Charlie because he, Claire, and Hurley are the only people I like.
When Jack was trying to revive Charlie one of the things that was going through my head was "Claire is going to be so upset when she learns that Charlie's dead." My heart was breaking for just the emotional impact of the moment and the destruction of the bond that Charlie and Claire had together.
I really, really want the cave corpses to turn out to be Amelia Earhart and whats-his-name.
That would be perfect.
I will say, imagine that revival scene without Kate in it -- it's not as effective is it? Anyway, not for me. Having her there and watchign and agonizedly editorializing and shrieking made the scene that much more potent than if it had just been Miracle Jack trying to fix all his past mistakes in one moment. It was like she screamed for the whole audience, you know?
Good transformative moment, anyway. The way they all sort of clutched each other, when he started breathing again.
