Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I know it was in Spanish, but I don't remember what the actual comic was, or if it was obvious enough to tell.

I put the answer to this in Spoilers, number 5 here

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

According to the TV Guide spoilers posted by beathen, "the comic book is actually a Spanish translation of "Green Lanter/Flash: Faster Friends" Part 1, which chronicles the superheroes' attack on an alien that turns out to be peaceful."

I don't think this is really a spoiler, since it was shown already, but the details may be.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

It's on the rack with the "I Think P-C's Right" shirt.

Remaindered, then? Sad.

OK, the The Stand thing. We need to split the camp. The Max Headroom fire bug guy is who, exactly?

I keep doing that too slow typing thing today. Ack.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Hardcover of The Stand can also double as a handy-dandy weapon to be kept at bedside in case of burglary. If you're strong enough to pick it up that is.

(Look at the shiny new thread that got all made up while I was away! Stupid work, interfering with my obsessions.)

I'm with Jessica on hoping Kate's crime wouldn't be something that could be white-washed. My money is on Kate having wasted someone in cold blood, *not* in self-defense, but premeditated. In revenge for something done to her or her loved ones.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, I want to explore another issue on my mind and this is Charlie's tatto.

Charlie's tattoo could have a lot of meanings and I'm sure I'm reading more into this than the writers intend, but I am not taking much from the actual song lyric, but the other lyrics in the song.

Part of me is wondering if the line after the lyric on Charlie is what adds meaning...

Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see.

And "Nothing is Real" is a long that is repeated throughout.

The above may give credence to the theory that this is purgatory/a dream/or something from Walt's head.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

The main reason I think that Locke can't be successfully mapped onto Fiver is that I think by the end of the season, we're going to end up with a deeply divided cast of castaways, a la WD, The Stand, and Lord of the Flies.

And I think it's far too early to presume Locke and Jack will wind up on the same side, which would make it rather difficult for Locke to be an advisor to Jack's throne.

Actually, I think Locke is the leading early candidate for the leader of the side that Jack is not on.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, re: The Stand.

I remember this book VERY well. I sure hope the writers don't go the route of the "magical Negro" like King did. Good grief. I don't immediately see parallels with TS at all, however...if the writers see them, that presents some interesting spoilers for the future. At least in terms of group dynamics.

WTF is Randall Flagg?

Not sure I want to contemplate that.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

My money is on Kate having wasted someone in cold blood, *not* in self-defense, but premeditated. In revenge for something done to her or her loved ones.

It would be way interesting if she had done something that awful, put together with the gold-hearted acts we've already seen. I picture a scene like this between her and Jack, after a scene of interpersonal conflict among the islanders:

"Why are you like this? What did you do?"
"I murdered someone, Jack. My husband."
"Kate."
"I killed him."
"No."
"He's dead. But I'm not a bad person, Jack."
"Why did you--"
"You had your chance for questions before. It was four years ago. It's over."
"Kate. You killed a man."
"I did. And I'd do it again."
