'Out Of Gas'

Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

If I only had a brain...

I am just so. damned. chuffed that one of the heroes is a guy who is unattractively overweight. Not fat-for-Hollywood, but genuinely fat. And he's resourceful and intelligent and kind. Rock on.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

Also, Jack needs to be in LAX in 16 hours. The transmission has been going on for 16 years.

It also just clicked, in relation to the show, that 16=4x4. Another four reference.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

who is unattractively overweight

I think I would want to phrase this as "who could be considered unattractively overweight." In Samoa, he'd be a hunka, hunka burning love.

4x4.

Faith! Faith!

Which would be the antithesis of 5x5

Yes, beauty is contextual, but so far we haven't seen any evidence that they're in Samoa. (Do they have polar bears in Samoa?)

No, but they aren't in Hollywood, CA, either.

I was fine when existence had no meaning. Meaninglessness in a universe that has no meaning -- that I get. But meaninglessness in a universe with meaning? What does that mean?

I'm amused by some of the posters at TWoP who assume Shannon actually stole the water and Boone is just covering for her. Why do people want to like Boone so much? So far he's been either an asshole or just whiny.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Walt's mother (and Michael's wife)

Do we know that Walt's mother is Michael's wife?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

And he's resourceful and intelligent and kind.

Have we seen "intelligent" yet? Dude can't spell bodies. I'm very much with you on the sentiment, though. He's a big guy, but that's not his character. I also love his hair.

No, really, why do people hate Hurley? There were some people who didn't like his referring to Sun and Jin as "the Chinese people," but that's just ignorance compared to Sawyer's deliberate "Mr. Miyagi."

I don't think it's a matter of wanting to like Boone as it being a plausible explanation that's in-character for both of them. Actually, not really that plausible. I can't see Boone covering for Shannon, the way he bitches at her about everything. Then again, it's a sibling thing.

Do we know that Walt's mother is Michael's wife?

No, actually. Michael only refers to her as "Walt's mother." That's just an assumption with the caveat that he's Walt's father.
