Yup. I'm saying they should go back and look around some more. Locke could go. He ain't skeered of no monster.
Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Because with a map, a location, and all that wood and metal, you don't have to be bloody Bligh or Shackleton to figure out a solution...
If he can manipulate it, then he's got a power over people they don't even know about.
I hadn't even thought of this option. Have we a wizard?!
Locke is the Wizard. Sayid is the Mage. Sawyer is the Ranger. Charlie is the Hobbit. Kate is the Thief. Jack is the Cleric. Michael is the Paladin. Hurley is the Dwarf. Claire is the Elf. Boone is the God's Friggin' Gift to Humanity, and Shannon is the Bee-Yatch.
I had Locke and Shannon figured, the first and the last, the Alpha and the Omega. Hey wait, does this mean I'm God! Whoopee!
No, the pressure is too much. Nevermind.
Hey everyone - I'm looking for a suggestion.
Shrift is willing to post the Lost scripts that I type up on her website (for which I would be grateful). Another option to me is to open a live journal account and post there.
Thoughts, comments?
Depends on whether you want comments, I guess. Also, the transcripts may be too large for LJ to handle (What's the word limit in LJ?). I'd go for a free-standing website, but that's just me.
You could look for an existing Lost fansite and see if they're looking for transcripts. (Edit: or willing to host them.)
But the last scene? Even the look on Charlie's face couldn't save it for me. I get it, already.
Okay, Even I kinda thought the very last scene with the moth, and the silly look on Charlie's face was a little much. But I'll wrestle anybody who didn't like the first scene with Locke and Charlie, and Locke's great little speech.
Also, don't aeroplanes carry, like, maps? Because if so, surely between them they can figure out lat and long?
They also carry GPS receivers. I don't know what kind, or if they'd run on batteries, but they should at least check it out.
And really, more than anything, some copper wire and a couple of magnets, both of which should be able to be found in the cockpit, and you've got hand cranked electricity. Maybe only barely enough to power radios and stuff, but there you go. (As DCJ pointed out earlier)
If he can manipulate it, then he's got a power over people they don't even know about.
I hadn't even thought of this option. Have we a wizard?!
I don't think he necessarily needs to overtly manipulate the island to be a wizard. Sometimes a wizard is just a very observant person who pays a lot of attention to the world around him (or her). Someone who sees things no one else sees. Locke certainly qualifies so far.
You know how Jack was supposed to have been killed off in the pilot? I think that might be the reason he doesn't do things he ought to do - like offering to help Charlie, because it was already part of the plot that Locke would do that. It might also explain the weird yes-no vibe between Kate and Jack, and the weirdness of Kate seeming to be interested in three guys. (Okay, that's not weird, but it's weird for a tv show to not have a clear Romantic Interest and Romantic Foil. It should have been Sayid she was into, and Sawyer she couldn't quite resist.) If Jack originally wasn't there, Kate would have been the Leader, and there would have been tension between Sayid and Sawyer over her. Now they've added Jack into the mix, but didn't really back off of her attraction to either of the other two, so now we have Kate the Romantically Indecisive.
