Sitting with Charlie telling him he is a good bassist, a pretty bassist...
Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
I liked the moth episode. I watched it yesterday. However, the painfulness of the anvil is not to be denied.
I also kind of wished that Charlie had simply turned out to be typical drug-obsessed rock band asshole (like his brother was formerly) rather than being so complicated. Though it does explain why he's so cuddly a little better.
:: sits in a mothless, we-do-not-over-extend-the-metaphor corner, casting asparagus at the Seans and lexines of the world ::
::takes asparagus, tosses with olive oil, garlic, sea salt and pepper, roasts at 450 for 20 minutes and then tosses an egg on top for another 3 minutes, serves::
Mmmm.... nummy asparagus.

I lurve me some sweet, cuddly Charlie, even if it makes me an uncomplicated (read boring) fan. The part of me that loves Tim Minear is keeling over in shock right now. But there's no telling when the simple me will come out. All the ads on the WB prompted me to get out my LotR FotR-EE DVDs. It just about killed me to watch them. I was much more accepting before. Now it was all: Sean Bean would have been better as Aragorn, and, they really should have picked an older actor for Frodo, and, check out all the really cheesy special effects. Bah.
Hmm. On the other hand, I like asparagus.
Oh, sure, let the asparagus-eaters define the video-literature. Green pee RULES!
Seriously, though, The Moth had its moments, many more moments than anything else on the primetime tube. Still, if it was a 'feature' in the theatre, there would have been barfing.
Hangs out with Sail and the yummy asparagus...sharing it with Charlie.
Finally caught up.
The moth-anvil didn't really bother me, but I wasn't in love with it either. My attitude towards it matches the outlook of Gus' current country of residence.
I'm wondering if the beach/cave split is a fake-out and the real split is going to be about something else. I can completely see, as others have suggested, Locke going the high priest route and forming a group of island/epileptic tree worshipers that is separate from the other castaways. Though at the moment the only one I can see following him is Charlie since Locke helped him get his guitar and helped free him from his drugs. I think Jack's line "I could have helped you through it." might end up being significant. He could have, but he didn't. Locke did.
