GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Finally caught up.

The moth-anvil didn't really bother me, but I wasn't in love with it either. My attitude towards it matches the outlook of Gus' current country of residence.

I'm wondering if the beach/cave split is a fake-out and the real split is going to be about something else. I can completely see, as others have suggested, Locke going the high priest route and forming a group of island/epileptic tree worshipers that is separate from the other castaways. Though at the moment the only one I can see following him is Charlie since Locke helped him get his guitar and helped free him from his drugs. I think Jack's line "I could have helped you through it." might end up being significant. He could have, but he didn't. Locke did.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah, Locke was proactive in seeking to offer him help, rather than calmly noting his condition and waiting for him to ask. Which junkies are so noted for doing. A better approach, I think, regardless of any possible ulterior motives.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I keep telling Sayid to go get some stuff from the damn cockpit. You could rig up a generator by winding wire and magnets, You could scrape solder off connections and circuit boards, hell, you might even find a hand-crank radio in there.

I was rewatching the first two episodes last night and I thought about that too. The cockpit is just sitting there - they could find more food or supplies - wires, circuitry, etc. (like Daniel said). Don't you think Sayid would have thought of this by now instead of "Oh no. We need more batteries and Sawyer has all of them"

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

There are certain disadvantages to salvaging kit from the cockpit. In no particular order, they are:

1) Almost certain death by invisible monster.

2) Err....

3) That's it.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I was okay with the moth metaphor in that first scene, with Locke gesturing to the cocoon with the knife. Then the reappearance in the cave made me groan a little, but it did serve a useful purpose, and I like that we're not sure if it was an hallucination or not. But the last scene? Even the look on Charlie's face couldn't save it for me. I get it, already. Also, someone tell me that you all are joking about the name of the episode actually being "The Moth".

In other news, I am wicked excited for tonight's episode!

No joke.

Jack, Kate & Charlie didn't get killed the first time they went. Sure they had a close call but if they brought along a few of the slower extras maybe the monster will chow on them and not bother with the main cast.

Thrive to spite them

When I watched The Moth, I wasn't sure if Locke just found the guitar or if that was part of the island's magic and he can manipulate it. If he can manipulate it, then he's got a power over people they don't even know about.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

Also, don't aeroplanes carry, like, maps? Because if so, surely between them they can figure out lat and long?
