What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

HCL = Hard Core Logo, a mockumentary about a Canadian punk band Hard Core Logo. The lead singer, Joe Dick (who is aptly self named) wants to get the band back together and tries to get the guitar player (and his best friend) Billy Tallent.

Hey, so that's where the current band Billy Tallent got their name from.

Thrive to spite them

That would probably be it.

Also Joe Dick is played by Hugh Dillon who was part of The Headstones, but then he left, and now he has another band the Hugh Dillon something Choir. Hugh also does some acting.

Billy Tallent is played by Callum Keith Rennie, who has the BBOC factor with EVERYONE. He's been on a long list of films and guest starring apperances on lots of tv shows that are shot in Canada.

Big Block of Concrete? Oh wait, that actually is it, isn't it. It's in the FAQ!

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

a rather intense (and rather slashy)

Dude. Rather slashy? It makes Smallville look like 7th Heaven.

It's been a while since I saw the movie, but wasn't there, like, a kiss? Plus there was this scene in which Billy slowly licks the blood off a wicked-ass knife... whoa Nelly.

Despite my grumblings, I actually like Kate's character. I just don't care much for Kate pining after Jack, is all.

My fave character on the island, hands down, is Locke. The rest of the gang would have to get a hella interesting back story to dethrone Locke from the position.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

This is kind of why I'm glad that Charlie's backstory was as simple and straightforward as it was. If TPTB tried to surpass themselves with every backstory, things would get ridiculous real fast.

Only on the cheek. But there is stronger subtext than the smooch.

Aside from the parts where Joe claims Billy for his own, Billy lists his demands for staying and Joe gives in, the ending, and bandmates comparing them to a trailer-trash married couple, there's that scene where John spills the beans to Mary the fan about Joe fucking Billy up the ass, which, well, is rather self-explanatory.

Vonnie's right. HCL is slashy there's no way around it. The knife scene is just....yeah Billy licks the knife and it's...gah!

Also--and I'm still trying to figure out why I think this--I have a feeling that Sawyer is an ex-cop or something of that ilk.

It's the not-impressed-with-other-people's-crap attitude that all cops have.

Plus, he was pretty damned handy with that pistol when the polar bear charged.
