Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

If I only had a brain...

Was I the only one who thought, "Mmmm. Heroin-smoked barbecue"?

Was I the only one who shouted, "Inhale!"

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The writers on LOST completely do not grok the concept of triangulation.

You don't need three sites. You need two. And you don't find out if the object is inside the triangle, you create a triangle formed by the two sites and the emitter.

I didn't know that, Betsy. Thanks. I think they did it the Literal Way in Reign of Fire as well.

You know, Betsy, I didn't even stop to think about that, but you're right. It's how a number of different forms of navigation work, Loran being one that comes to mind since my cousin was a Coastie.

Well, I know we have some real engineers around here; I'm just a half-assed CS major.

I just watched my tape, but I am so tired right now that I'm just going to crash without comment. Except ... I am so setting up a comfy chair in Beverly's I Like Sawyer corner. There are levels there; I'm sure of it. Plus the pretty. MmmHmmm.

More tomorrow for me. Eyes shutting now ...

I totally thought of this tonight, but got caught up in the story and completely blanked on it.

Sigh. Some former Boy Scout.

But it can be done with three.

I was also puzzled by him saying it had to be within the triangle, tho. It wouldn't matter, as by using the relative strengths of the three points, one could conceivably work out where a source is within or outside of the area.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

It was DH's first episode of lost. Not a good introduction. too anvilly. but DH did note that the guitar - was an Ovation. Often known as a 'canoe paddle' in the guitar world. hard to destroy, and in a pinch... though I found the story predictable, I enjoied it despite the anvils. must be the actor.

locke as loki -- really good idea.

ad charlie - crawling out of the cave - just to push the metaphor at little further;a christ -like action. I thik in this case Charlie took on his brother's sins
