Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
It was DH's first episode of
lost.
Not a good introduction. too anvilly. but DH did note that the guitar - was an Ovation. Often known as a 'canoe paddle' in the guitar world. hard to destroy, and in a pinch...
though I found the story predictable, I enjoied it despite the anvils. must be the actor.
locke as loki -- really good idea.
ad charlie - crawling out of the cave - just to push the metaphor at little further;a christ -like action. I thik in this case Charlie took on his brother's sins
The writers have been playing fast and loose with the technical details of aviation, radio communication, and medicine since the first episode. Acknowledging that the way the plane came apart made it most unlikely that any one would survive is the first indication I've noticed that the "errors" may be deliberate. Intriguing....
I was kind of meh on the episode over all. I like Dom a lot, and the character, but somehow his backstory left me kind of cold. There were some nice points though. I like Michael getting to step forward and be useful. I liked the Steve and Scott scene, especially since it was a total throw away, and we didn't see them in the cave. I especially liked the look between Michael and Sun after Walt asked if they could live in the cave.
Lee speaks for me. Dom was great but Charlie's story bored me a bit, since it was pretty clear where it was going.
Sawyer still pretty, though, and he definitely has that Viggo thing working for him. But more dimples.
DIMPLES.
Next week looks interesting. I miss getting a Mejia of the previews. Speaking of which, where is Jeff? Is he around anymore?
I liked the episode. I think I just like getting hit with anvils.
t follows it up with another anvil.
I think the thing I didn't like about this ep is that almost nothing in it took me by surprise. It all felt cliched, as well as heavy handed.
Catholicism is rather clichéd and heavy handed. Loved beth's note of taking on the brother's sins too.
Speaking of which, where is Jeff? Is he around anymore?
I checked in on him when we were having hurricanes because he is in Florida. (Jeff and family were fine) I'll drop him another note and see if he is up to the task!
I'm just a half-assed CS major.
Heh. Betsy has Lost half her ass. hey it's early
I'm with Lee. I thought this was the weakest ep so far. However, a weak "Lost" ep still keeps me interested.
BTW, upthread: Walt mentioned FIRST that they were Korean and he corrected Michael (I think) a few eps back. But like I said, I thought it unlikely that a couple would be spending time (and I'm wondering if they were LIVING there) in Australia and not even know how to say "do you know how to speak Korean?" in English.
Walt mentioned FIRST that they were Korean and he corrected Michael (I think) a few eps back.
Walt mentioned it first, but he wasn't correcting Michael. Michael asked him where he learned to brush with aloe, and he said the Korean lady told him.
Yeah, this ep was fairly weak, which leads me to say with conviction that
Veronica Mars
is, indeed, better than
Lost.
Not that I don't love both shows.
