I'm sorry I haven't gotten to participate as much as I wanted.
Cindy is me. Between a deadline that's creeping up on me like very quickly-creeping crud, and the kids, reading is this dimly remembered luxury that I sometimes indulge in for the two minutes before I crash at night. I'm still not done with Asher. (Hangs head and slinks away...)

What is even happening?
(Neither am I, AmyLiz, and I think my copy is overdue. I'm not looking at that, until tomorrow. The sad thing? I love Potok, and love what I've read of Asher, so far. The first book didn't interest me all that much, so when I didn't get to it, I didn't mind. This is killing me in a having everyone's-a-half-season ahead of me-watching-Buffy, when-I have-the-tapes, kind of killing me way.)

Twice now I've gotten caught up in RL stuff in the week before we start and spent the bulk of the discussion racing to finish and resisting the urge to read the discussion. I'm about half-way through Small World so I should actually be able to participate this time. It's been fun reading the discussion even after the fact, though.

I'm Cindy and AmyLiz, only without children, a new school year, or writing deadlines. Geez, I'm lame (er, because I can't get the books done in time, not because of not having those things). But! I am also brenda in enjoying reading the discussion anyway and in anticipating participating in the Small World discussion.

Well unlike being half a season behind in a tv show, the beauty of Book Club is that every month is a clean slate. And I'm fairly certain I'm going to fall behind some months too. (I'm still not finished Small World yet due to my literary philandering with Stephen King and Laurell K. Hamilton.)
I suggest for those of you who find yourselves with less book time than you'd like, maybe skip a book so you have two months for the next selection. (Of course this plan only works if we have at least two books chosen ahead of time.)

Selectors don't have to participate actively. How about if we put you down for the 4th book which means your selection will come up for discussion in 5 months?
