That's what I do too, Wolfram. My library is also set up very bizarrely, so sometimes it's easier to get it at the hold desk, if I want something specific, rather than browsing for general reading.

The Buffista Book Club: the Harry Potter iteration
This thread is a focused discussion group. Please see the first post below for the current topic and upcoming book discussions. While natter will inevitably happen, we encourage you to treat this like a virtual book club and try to keep your posts in that spirit.
By consensus, this thread is reopened specifically to discuss Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It will be closed again once that discussion has run its course.
***SPOILER ALERT***
I read it in about a week's worth of giving it half an hour here and there, which is about how I manage to read for fun these days. It was a pretty quick read, I thought. I'm looking forward to the discussion.
I finished re-reading it last night, & I'm also looking forward to the discussion.
show offs :)
I finished and I'm waiting to talk about it, but I also found a used copy of the book the first day I looked.
I need to reread the last part because I think I missed something.
My copy didn't arrive till Tuesday, so I just started it. Looks good so far, though.
show offs :)
For my next trick, please observe this ordinary handkerchief...
Just picked up my copy at the local library, going to start it soonish. In checking how many pages it was (255), I did happen to notice a name mentioned (Is it OK to mention it here, this early?) which makes me somewhat eager. Is it the character I know, or just a tribute to them from the author? Interesting . . . .
Gandalfe, I was wondering the same thing.
Finally managed to go and pick up the book today. I'm really looking forward to jumping in. Also I made a convert - the clerk at the bookstore wanted to know if there were more copies so he could go grab one. "That sounds great! When the description starts out 'Two warring factions in the Department of Elevator Instructors,' how can you go wrong?"
