Ah. Thanks, Kathy. Do we know what happened to his original body, though?
I believe the body was entirely destroyed, and all that was left of him was an ethereal remnant -- an eighth of a soul, if you will.
This thread is a focused discussion group. Please see the first post below for the current topic and upcoming book discussions. While natter will inevitably happen, we encourage you to treat this like a virtual book club and try to keep your posts in that spirit.
By consensus, this thread is reopened specifically to discuss Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It will be closed again once that discussion has run its course.

Technically a 7th of a soul, since Nagini wasn't infected with soul de Voldemort until after his body died the first time.

Point. I stand corrected.
Though does the soul split in half with the first Horcrux, then the remaining part split in half again, and so on? So 1/128th of a soul.

Oo, even better point!
That's why Voldy didn't notice it when he lost part of himself in Harry.
Aww it's nice that Big D doesn't think Harry is a waste of space. I have to agree with Vernon, Kingsley would be my first choice as well.
This is an adorable sketch of Sirius, Remus, James, and Peter horsing around in the Marauder's era.
I'm up the point of arrival on the Tonks house. All of the sudden no Hedwig and no Firebolt. I wasn't expecting either of those, I thought the Firebolt would come into play at some point. I have no idea what is up with his wand either. I liked the chase sequence, very tense, I wonder if everyone will make it ok, the title of Chapter 5 seems to indicate not since Hedwig isn't exactly a fallen warrior.
I was also somewhat skeptical about how Harry or Hagrid could have survived their landings, but whatever, in a book full of magic it's easy to handwave off stuff like that. I was also confused about Voldamort suddenly disappearing but it made perfect sense in the end.
