And while Ginny would probably jump Harry's bones at the first opportunity, I suspect Harry would have to get over some worries about how Ron would react.

You know how Harry kisses Ginny and then leads her out of the common room at the end of Chapter 24 of HBP? I doubt his virginity made it to Chapter 25.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We know that magical couples can bear non-magical offspring or barely-magical squibs. And that Muggle couples can bear magical offspring (obvious example: Hermione). But that both are the exception rather than the rule.

And the magical world seems to have ways of telling, around the age of 10 or 11, who's magical and who isn't.

Another story idea, though it wouldn't necessarily fit in Aberforth's memoirs because students aren't allowed into Hogsmeade during 1st year -- POV of ordinary Muggle-born wizard, knowing nothing about wizarding world, sees Hogwarts for the first time. Such as Harry and Hermione might have been if Ron hadn't latched on to them. (OK, Harry also had Hagrid to show him around Diagon Alley.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

A story or two set during the Hogwarts of the parents' generation

There are about eight million stories set in the Marauders' generation, if that's what you mean.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

You know how Harry kisses Ginny and then leads her out of the common room at the end of Chapter 24 of HBP? I doubt his virginity made it to Chapter 25.

I don't. That scene in DH sure looked like it was supposed to be Their First Time.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've been thinking of magic as a recessive gene all along...

Yeah, this.

Or else maybe a spontaneous mutation, kind of like the one that sometimes produces hairless kittens even though there's no hairless cats in the family background....

Yeah, you're probably right. But not for Ginny's lack of trying.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Or else maybe a spontaneous mutation, kind of like the one that sometimes produces hairless kittens even though there's no hairless cats in the family background....

I think there's always a fundamental mistake in trying to apply real-life scientific laws to fantasy magic. It inevitably constrains more than is really neccesary. One would always expect the response to be, "well ... kind of."

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Another story I'd love to read is Snape's POV of 7th year.

Oh, would LOVE to see that.

And while Ginny would probably jump Harry's bones at the first opportunity, I suspect Harry would have to get over some worries about how Ron would react.

Oh its just so TRUE!

You know how Harry kisses Ginny and then leads her out of the common room at the end of Chapter 24 of HBP? I doubt his virginity made it to Chapter 25.

Oh see now, that would be sad. Let them have their happy teenage fumbling... everything is so mysterious and fun. Such a shame to rush that.

Luna started a blog

Oh. My. I am now filled with the urge to write that. Sure, the computer part would have to be all handwavium, but the notion of writing Luna's blog entries is nigh irresistible.
