Book: Yes, I'd forgotten you're moonlighting as a criminal mastermind now. Got your next heist planned? Simon: No. But I'm thinking about growing a big black mustache. I'm a traditionalist.

Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I mean, it's entirely possible they kept the catsuit for an amazing reveal 1/2 way into the movie

Nope. That's the catsuit.

Well, that's the eventual catsuit. There's a makeshift one she wears while she's still testing/discovering her powers, but it's basically the same outfit with slightly less skin showing.

If I only had a brain...

I wonder -- if it's that terrible (and I believe you), why are they giving it the Big Summer Release instead of quietly sneaking it out next Spring?

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I suppose it depends on the budget. It's still possible, if it opens big enough, for a movie to make back its budget in the opening weekend, right? Before the really bad word of mouth has the chance to get around.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I wonder -- if it's that terrible (and I believe you), why are they giving it the Big Summer Release instead of quietly sneaking it out next Spring?

Because it's big budget and stars an award winning actress?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

My one worry is that this thing will be so ridiculed, it'll crash and burn Halle's career and send her back to Bryan Singer begging to reprise her role.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

When I saw Spiderman on the weekend we saw a trailer for Michael Mann's new movie Collateral with Tom Cruise. Has there been any buzz about this? It was the first that I'd heard of it.
