Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

Thrive to spite them

I've never been to the IMAX theater here. I'll go see Batman and Robots there though.

I also need to go do the Dark Side of the Moon planetarium thing they have.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We saw the last Harry Potter on IMAX. So much more detail was visible - it was very interesting.

I did too, and I thought it worked great, except for the scene between Harry and Lupin on the bridge. They were so far apart that it became a scene about the bridgpost in the middle of the screen.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I saw RotK on IMAX and it was very happymaking.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Yeah, the actor playing the post was really wooden.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I saw Beauty and the Beast on IMAX. Which was awesome. You really felt like you were in a castle.

Backstage at the Academys:

One of the more unexpected backstage comments: honoree Sidney Lumet, who has worked with the greatest actors of five decades, was asked about the star of his next picture, Vin Diesel.

"One of the finest actors I have ever worked with," he said. "In acting, you get to the job any way you can. He was typed as a muscleman, and he had success at that, but take my word for it, you will be amazed at the work he does."

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

In acting, you get to the job any way you can. He was typed as a muscleman, and he had success at that, but take my word for it, you will be amazed at the work he does.

Considering (IIRC) his father taught drama, I'm not surprised.

Sydney Lumet is validating my Vin love.

Pfft. Sydney Lumet is releasing a movie soon.

Not that I don't think Vin is good, but this...

""One of the finest actors I have ever worked with," he said.

...is pure 100% Hollywood cock-sucking.
