So, my Hollywood bf, Dominic West? Out of the Bond running? It's ok, although he is babe enough, not really the right type.(I'd love to see him play McNulty for another few years, anyway.) But I would like to see him break out and be huge so y'all can appreciate my taste.
Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Erika, a friend just lent us season one of The Wire. We don't have HBO, so I only ever saw one episode while visiting my mom. Looking forward to watching all of them!
I only know of Dominic West from his cameo as Fred Casely in Chicago. He was good in the role, but I was biased against him--I would have preferred them to cast the guy who played the role on Broadway (he was a high school classmate of mine).
Robin, you will either love it or wonder why nothing happens, but both McNulty and Stringer Bell= Foamy (And they both blow my mind doing American voices when they're not.) Honestly, I'd like to see Stringer...I mean, Idris Elba, in a thriller/espionage movie one day. He's good at suave-yet-scary. ETA: He's a dealer on the Wire and his appeal messes with my moral judgement. Like Spike. Except it's like "Fft. What's a little heroin?" instead of "So he eats people." Have to jump back sometimes. McNulty had me with authority problem and the leather coat(Also like Spike, actually.)
Wait... Idris Elba? Vaughn from Ultraviolet Idris Elba? Hmmmm, I may have to check this out.
Well, I'm not even done with my H:LotS S5 DVDs yet, but maybe after that.
Wait... Idris Elba? Vaughn from Ultraviolet Idris Elba?
That's the one.
Hmm. I wonder if I got my Ultraviolet DVDs back yet. I'm due for a rewatch.
I say Paul Bettany can do whatever he wants. And that includes silly popcorn movies with Kirsten Dunst in which he lounges against a doorframe wearing only a pair of low-slung sweatpants.
I'd go to that movie.
I'd go to that movie.
Wimbledon. Big screen. So totally worth the money.
I've not seen Ultraviolet...is it on disk? Vampires and Elba? Sounds like a party. (Which is my way of saying, um, yeah...same man. Not your father's drug dealer on TV.) Cleans up nice, doesn't he? Very perfect American accent, too. Even knowing he's not, I couldn't hear it at all. Ever. He says dealers talk to him on street tell him all kinds of scary stuff. DW's accent is damn fine, but sometimes his vowels sound foreign now that I know.ETA: Netflix doesn't know Ultraviolet and we usually get on so well!
Ultraviolet is indeed on dvd. It also has Jack Davenport being angstful and pretty.
