Maybe there were additional scenes shot of Jews cheating people out of their money and seasoning babies in their kitchens that he's cut back in to pad the run time?
Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Berry gets some grudging points for me for that.
Of course, she'd get more points from me if for every large-budget, high-paycheck movie she appears in, she alternated with independent, low-pay movies that stretch her acting abilities.
Heh. I like Halle a little more now for that.
This weekend I watched Wit, which was good, but not as good as Emma Thompson's performance. Seriously, how amazing is she?
Yesterday was Kids in the Hall: Same Guys, New Dresses. I thought it would be more performance stuff from their tour, and hadn't realized it was a documentary. It was only okay. They needed to cut the entire bit about Scott Thompson trying to work his robot dog.
Today I'll either watch Napoleon Dynamite, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster or Gia before I settle in with some deliciously trashy food to watch the Oscars.
Arthur, The Book and Marvin get two thumbs up; the rest get two thumbs down...
Having seen him in a couple of differnt things now, all of which I was very impressed with him, there is no way in which Mos Def is not absolutely perfect for Ford Prefect. I think I'm looking forward to him most of all.

Go with Napoleon Dynamite. Gosh!
Can't do Oscars. I swear, ever since Rob Lowe and the Dancing Snow White thing.....
I saw Constantine last night. I agree with the people upthread -- it's not actually a *good* movie, but it was fun to watch on an "ooh, shiny" level.
Also, I think Keanu Reeves missed his era by about 80 years -- in silent films, he probably would have been considered a great actor. It's just that the talking thing trips him up.
"I want to thank Warner Brothers for casting me in this piece of s---," she said as she dragged her agent on stage and warned him "next time read the script first."
Heh.
Does anyone have any good recommendations for Oscar picks? I just want to read thoughtful snippets on the major awards.
I have Ebert so far.
