Hmmm. Looks like TMBG are doing songs for Henry Selick's stop motion animated Coraline. And French and Saunders are scheduled for some of the old lady voices.
To which I say: Cool!
I hope the massive success of
The Corpse Bride
sparks a renaissance in gothy stop motion animation.

Please oh please oh please.
While watching
Edward Scissorhands
the other day, I thought, "Now the castle here is just about the most perfect goth setting ever." Then I thought about Halloweentown and Jack's house. Then I thought about the dilapidated zoo in the snow in
Batman Returns.
And, of course, the sets for the Lemony Snicket movie were all exactly perfect.
There really ought to be a Goth Town somewhere.
There really ought to be a Goth Town somewhere.
Yes, there should. If Buffista Island happens, it can go there.
Will you let me live there even though I don't like the music?
Don't forget about the Addams mansion - from the movie, not the show, of course.
Will you let me live there even though I don't like the music?
Of course. Though you've already expressed liking for some Nick Cave and I'm pretty sure you'd love all the snarky gothy piano ballads mix I made, as they are (a) pretty (b) smart (c) somewhat wicked. All of which I associate with the Betsian aesthetic.
