Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Art Crawl!!!

I bought the dvds because they are so slow about purchasing.

I mean, I requested, I bet you requested too beej. In fact, I'm sure more than a few people on this board requested -- but do they CARE?

Apparently, not.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I requested. I requested twice, at least.

How do you talk to Netflix? I haven't found a way to communicate, really. I'd like to let them know that I have slight issues with an estimated shipping of a week to get a DVD, after it took them a week to receive it. I mean, if they have to send me a DVD from another state, they should be able to just tell you that, and let you change your mind. I feel like I'm wasting a lot of time with just shipping issues, for some of these things.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Alibelle, I don't think there's an obvious signal of "we don't carry this disc at your local warehouse" -- you just have to guess based on how obscure the movie is. But there is a query/feedback email, hidden in the FAQ menu.

I bitched at them just 2 weeks ago, about how, after Christmas, it suddenly took 2+ business days to ship anything at all to us, when before Christmas it had been usually same day. They sent me a fairly standard reply, but the shipping is faster again.

Well, the dvd's in question were the Alias season two ones. I didn't think they'd be so obscure I would need to have them mailed from Flushing, NY to LA.

But cool. I'll go find that link.

Ali, there's a "contact us" link at the bottom of the page at the Netflix site.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Alibelle, you can stop reading now.

Here's a nice little blog post about how great Groundhog Day is. Apparently it's the most spiritual film of all time.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I got the Ultraviolet DVDs for Christmas, and posted about them here: dcp "Natter 31 But Looks 29" Dec 27, 2004 9:00:37 pm PST

If anyone wants to borrow them, email to my profile address.

Thanks, Beverly!

Thanks for the warning, P-C. Unfortunately, the blue writing caught my eye first.

Why the hell do we talk about this movie every week? If not every day? I mean, geez. Yes, today is Groundhog Day, but we've been talking about the movie for FOREVER. And the irony of that is not lost on me.

For all definitions of irony that mean what I think it means, of course.
