Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

They have a high rate of prediction, but I'm pretty sure the Oscar nominations are done by peers, award voting by everyone.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jesse's right.

hip deep in pie

And DGA has a high rate for predicting Directing Oscar because it's basically the same people, right?

All but 6 of the DGA winners in the last 20 years have gone on to win the Oscar for best director. The last time when Roman Polanski won for The Pianist.

Art Crawl!!!

Alan Cumming on the Joss/Xmen3 rumors:

Regarding the much touted Joss Whedon rumors, Cumming speculated that they were false. "I don't think he is though. I heard that too last year, but I don't know. I don't think that's happening. Maybe it is. It certainly seems to be that was around, but I don't know. I mean, I think he'd be great."

Up with the sun

Scream 2 is on AMC.

WHY do I not have Neve Campbell's hair? (It would be nice to look like her in general, but the haircut is actually within my reach.)

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

I just saw her in When Will I Be Loved. Oh my. She's very easy to look at, and what a performance.

For the televisual equivalent of a potboiler Party of Five had a high concentration of talented actors and actresses. And then there was Jennifer Love Hewitt.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Scream 2 is on AMC.

As much as I like that movie, that channel keeps me wondering how they define "American Movie Classics".

Didn't they used to be more about the oldies?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Didn't they used to be more about the oldies?

Yep. Back when they didn't have commercials either. Go with Turner Classic Movies instead - they definitely are the only channel really doing that any more (Cinemax used to try occasionally too, but I think they've given up completely. Ironically, they're not really Skinemax anymore either, comparitively speaking).

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I don't know when they started showing films that used to be on USA or Comedy Channel, but it's starting to get amusing what they call a "classic". I figure that they've turned over the true "classic" film channel title to Turner Classic Movies, even though they only show MGM films.
