Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You know, telling Alibelle she'll get it when she's older is about as respectful as "Oh, you'll get fat when you're thirty, though." (to which I should have replied "Like you? Will I also get bitter and vindictive? Yay!" But I didn't. Still, being in good shape works fine as revenge so far.)

Well, I wasn't respectful to Allibelle, but I wasn't that serious in my assertion that she'll benefit from added bitterness.

Other people have cooler Bill Murray lists, in part because I neglected all of his spectacular supporting roles in Ed Wood, Tootsie ("You slut!"), Little Shop of Horrors, Wild Things etc.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Steals her pink ipod while she is distracted by the hug.

*crying* So mean. Way to kick me when I'm down.

Well, I wasn't respectful to Allibelle, but I wasn't that serious in my assertion that she'll benefit from added bitterness.

Lee has now made me bitter, and I still don't care for Groundhog Day.

So, today's lesson is: Bitterness is not all it's cracked up to be.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

bon bon, did you watch all the way through the end credits? I thought that was a stroke of genius.

Heh. I was surprised by how good a movie that actually turned out to be. It was marketed like the entire movie was a Matt Dillon-Denise Richards-Neve Campbell threesome scene, but it was pretty entertaining mystery. Although I never did fully understand it, even having watched through the end credits. All the plot twists left me terribly confused.

So very true. Bliss, however, is by definition extremely blissful.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

bon bon, did you watch all the way through the end credits? I thought that was a stroke of genius.

That was very clever. Kind of wish I hadn't known about the threesome ahead of time, since it spoiled any twist coming from the first hour.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

For Bill Murray,

1. Ghostbusters
2. Stripes
3. Tootsie
4. Caddyshack
5. Meatballs

I like All of Me a lot, but my favorite Steve Martin film is probably My Blue Heaven.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oooooooh, shiny! And hee. When I first saw the groom, my first thought was, wow, this guy's really modeled on Johnny Depp. And then the vocal credits started playing. This should be fun.
