We've wandered from cheesy movies to pretty darn good movies, but I'd like to mention one for the cheesy title: Eddie and the Cruisers. Something about it--the sequel was a horrid misbegotten waste of film, but the first one was just about perfect, for what it was. And the cast--Barkin, Berringer, Joey Pants, and one or the other of the Laurance twins.
And we just watched Streets of Fire tonight. Fun! I was so disillusioned to find out the Sorels didn't really sing their song.

How can you not love a film where Willem Dafoe, as the villain, has a sledgehammer duel with the hero at the climax? Also Rick Moranis as a REALLY angry nerd.

Also the Ruprecht-the-idiot sequence from "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." The movie itself is just okay, but that sequence is sick and dirty genius.
Oh my god. That scene almost killed me, literally, because I was laughing so hard that I couldn't breathe.
I still call my brother "Ruprecht the Monkey Boy" from time to time.

I love Streets of Fire. I still think the moment when The Sorels realize they're being hijacked by a famous person and take the opportunity to sing her a song is one of the funnier movie moments ever.

Bill Murray manages to break my heart quite often while annoying me with his characters. Lost In Translation remains one of my favorite performances of his, with Ghostbusters coming in a close second.
Eeeee! Roxanne-love!!! My favorite part is when he's walking down the street after meeting up with the two firefighters who are leading Elsie the cow toward the firehouse. He's just ranting in the funniest way imaginable, and it kills me every time. LA Story is also super-fantastic. I wish, oh I wish Picasso At The Lapin Agile would finally make it onto the screen. Is brilliant. You must check it out if you love Mr. Martin.
