Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Sadly, I haven't seen it yet.

good movies you've seen umpteen times that you have to watch if you come across them while surfing.

Big Trouble in Little China

Buckaroo Banzai

Muppet Treasure Island

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Sadly, I haven't seen it yet. But I can't imagine why I wouldn't.

Dude, you MUST see Bring It On!

Steph, when I still had cable, I'd do the SAME DAMN THING, and of COURSE I own it.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I don't even KNOW you anymore, man!

Hee!

Okay, but it's not like you didn't know I was a major slacker, which is the only defense I plead on that one.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Willow. And also Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Please don't hurt me.

Hey, I like Willow. I agree you on RH:PoT being bad but strangely compelling, though. It was funny I was surfing one night and caught it playing on Spanish station. After a few moments of being amused by the dud voices, I opened up the guide to actually find something to watch and was able to tell when the sneaking into the castle part started based on a bored-sounding guy repeating the same thing in Spanish over and over again.

Bring It On, right? TELL me you love Bring It On!

I watched it on a whim one night out of boredom ("Hey, Eliza Dushku in skimpy outfits, that'll work.") and was surprised that it was actually entertaining.

Big Trouble in Little China

Yes, this. Though I've only seen it a hanful of times. I only saw it for the first time about 2 or 3 years ago.

And sadly I own most of my "must stop and watch" movies too.

I don't watch the movies I own, because that involves thinking "I want to watch a movie, let's put the disc in." If I'm trolling past on the TV, that means I'm already in "watch the pretty moving pictures" mode.

yepyepyepyepyep

Also on the "no edits" issue, I'm talking strictly cable - a movie on commercial tv (which sadly now includes some used-to-be-good stations - AMC and Bravo, I'm lookin' at you) I might pause, but since I own most of my must sees, if it's caught me, I'll throw it in.

The Freshman would probably be the big exception, as I don't own it. Might have to remedy that. Hmmmm....

Ooo, The Freshman. Lovely movie.
