And, I neglected to mention, one of the very best on-screen kisses EVAH!
Ta pieces. You said it Alibelle.
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

But, Christian Slater *is* creepy! Much as he was in "Bed of Roses". Or maybe I just have a problem buying him as a sensitive lost soul, 'cause being sorta-skeevy is, like, a part of his personality, ya know?
I do love "Pump Up the Volume" though. I wonder whatever happened to Samantha Mathis?
In a Kevin Bacon move, I can connect Samatha Mathis and Christian Slater in one move.
Broken Arrow. Full cheese, but I liked it for the crazy Travolta.
Slater: You're out of your mind. Travolta: Yeah. Ain't it cool?
Mathis was pretty wasted in it. In fact, can't think of anything I've really liked her in.
She was in Broken Arrow with...Christian Slater! (Ha! x-post, and that's the best line)
Anyone remember Kuffs ?
P-C, I was JUST thinking about Kuffs!
Wow. How sad is it that we both remember it. Painful, but ya know, I enjoyed parts.
Anyone remember Kuffs?
Heh. When Christian and Whoopi Goldberg worked on a movie together, he gave her a hard time about some of her role choices at the time. She turned around busted his chops thoroughly for Kuffs.
You know, I remember liking Bed of Roses and Broken Arrow, but they are not movies that stay with you like Untamed Heart. Untamed Heart is awesome. Even hearing that song makes me tear up.
Dudes. Samantha Mathis *was* in "Pump Up the Volume" with Christian Slater. No need to invoke the bad cheese of "Broken Arrow" to connect these two.
Mathis was also on the Gillian Armstrong version of "Little Women" with Winona Ryder, who was in "Heathers" with Christian Slater. Sigh. I fucking love that version of "Little Women". Especially young Christian Bale as Laurie.
No need to invoke the bad cheese of "Broken Arrow" to connect these two.
I really liked it! Cause I like that sort of thing. There was that one line from the trailer, where one of the government guys was explaining, "We've got a broken arrow. It's what we call it when we lose a nuclear weapon." My brother and I always changed it to, "We've got a broken arrow. It's what we call it when we break...an arrow."
I also have a strong fondness for Kuffs. I recall having seen it multiple times. It must have been on HBO a lot or something.
Oh yeah. I love that version of Little Women too...and now that you mention it, I remember Mathis in it. She always seems to play the fay, (read: irritating to me) pretty one.
Just like in Mists of Avalon. Hated her in that. Whiny and cross. But pretty. Ugh.
