I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

If anyone ever looked better than Rita Hayworth in Gilda it was probably Ava Gardner in The Killers, and they're playing as a double feature.

The Fishko Files on Essential Noir (Real Audio necessary.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

True, Ava's ungodly beautiful in The Killers.

I might have to save one of my votes for Hedy Lamarr though.

Art Crawl!!!

Another Bond rumor (from the IMDB):

Gruffudd Leads Bond Race

Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd is leading the way to play the next James Bond - ahead of Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman. The King Arthur star is said to possess "all the credentials" to take over from Pierce Brosnan as the next 007 in the secret spy films. A source says, "Ioan is the only actor being considered as the next Bond at the moment. He has all the credentials to play Bond and, unlike most of the other candidates mentioned, he's relatively unknown. The producers know Ioan is going to be a big star with or without Bond. It's just a matter of whether he wants to take on such a huge role and the early indications are that he does."

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It looks like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp as The Crow.

I was thinking more like Steve Valentine's choreagrapher character from Nikki.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hee.

Yeah, it's a bit smiley and colourful for Crow proper.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

Another Bond rumor (from the IMDB):

Hey, y'know what'd be fun? Another Casino Royale style Bond caper. Then you could reassemble the cast of "Doctor Who: The Curse of Fatal Death" and it'd actually be fun to watch. Rowan Atkinson as Bond, Hugh Grant as Bond, Jim Broadbent as Bond. And so on. Even Joanna Lumley as Bond.

That would be amusing.

Of course, now I feel an urge to watch Curse of Fatal Death again.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Hey, y'know what'd be fun? Another Casino Royale style Bond caper.

Yeah...there's Austin Powers, but something with a little more class would be nice.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Interview with Audrey Tautou (star of Amélie) about her new movie, also directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

It's a big critical and financial success in France.
