Twice. I loves it. Especially Mitsuko, that wacko. Love. her.

Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I rather enjoyed it myself. It's twisted and hard core, with KIDS!
I clung to Cutthroat Island and to Swashbuckler because, hey, it was a LONG time between pirate movies. (Also? Robert Shaw: yummyburger.)
Then came my one true love, The Big Gay Pirate Movie.
Battle Royale is the most rockingest movie EVER. In that incredibly sick way.
x-posted with the music thread:
On the upside, Joss admits he can sing the entire score to Phantom of the Paradise in the Firefly thread. On the downside, there's an announcement about the big damn movie.
damn. on the upside, i guess people have more time to not only plan the Firefly shindig, but they also have more time to save for it.
[edit] and this is what i get for not going into the Firefly thread for ages.
Scarlett Johannsen needs to have a run-in with Lauren Bacall.
I would pay serious money to be a witness to this. Though really the ideal situation would be for Ms. Bacall to steal away whatever 40ish midlife crisis-having millionaire Johannsen is dating, as publicly as possible.
All Hugh (Grant) All Colin (Firth) All Wet All The Time. And that is final.
Does anyone else totally identify with this comic?
I did, until the punchline, and then I was all, "I don't get it."
The release date is September 30th. Hopefully it won't change again.
The new release date for Serenity is my birthday! Woo hoo! That is an awesome day. Good choice. I will be 23, and I always go to the movies on my birthday.
I've been told I look like Matthew Modine. Well, actually, I've been told I look like somebody who looks like Matthew Modine. Although who I REALLY look like is Ray Manzerak.
Ooh, can we play the what actors do you look like game? I honestly think I look rather like Robin Wright in
The Princess Bride,
but the people I hear the most often are Lisa Kudrow, and Amber Benson, and one time "You're that girl from
American Beauty
! Hey! Why aren't you talking to me! You think you're better than me?!" But he was drunk. I was also told I look like Sarah Michelle once, but I think someone was just trying to be nice, since the person in question knew I obsessed over liked Buffy.
"You're that girl from American Beauty!"
Mena Suvari or Thora Birch?
Trying to figure out which one is more of a compliment...
Going with Thora, cuz she's talented. Sometimes.
P-C: I've said it before, I'll say it again: I don't get you on movies. Our TV tastes are like perfectly synergistic, but I just don't see how you can love Eternal Sunshine (best movie of ever, maybe) and not love Lost in Translation (other best movie of ever).
(For the people who are like "Dude, your 'ever' sure covers a short time period, you young whipprsnapper you," I present these excuses: 1) I'm exaggerating 2) NANNY NANNY YOU ARE OLD!)
Mena Suvari or Thora Birch?
I have no idea. He was way drunk, and I quoted what he kept saying. Probably Mena, because of the blonde. He was really insistent about it, though. Odd little man.
Movie stars have my sympathies. Weird people accosting you on the street is just disconcerting, every time.
Does anyone know why "The Notebook" has now been moved to a February release to dvd? When I was all happily set on a November one? And why does "Elf" now have a very long wait, when before it was a short wait? Does the line in front of you get longer at Netflix? Because that's less than cool.
