You like ships. You don't seem to be looking at the destinations. What you care about is the ships, and mine's the nicest.

Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Steph, you're not getting Kinsey?

We had a disply up for it at the theater here in Lancaster. I was surprised, actually.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I imagine we'll get it, but as of now, it's not listed in the "Coming Soon" section of my theatre's website (the indie theatre in my neighborhood is the most likely to show it). And I'd bet good money that it only runs for a week.

No capes!

Hee!

Pete is just as enthralled with the movie. He thinks it's the best adventure movie ever made.

And yes, Aimée and MM should go as Bob & Helen next Halloween, with Emma (who will be born on November 17th, trust me) as Jack-Jack.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I hear Brad Bird, the writer-director of The Incredibles, also provided the voice for Edna? Can I marry him? Pretty please?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

See, I think if you have a quick-release cape (velcro or something), they can work.

Also, monologuing !

If I only had a brain...

HOly COW. Vonnie found the cast for The Bridge of San Luis Rey. Look at that cast. It's insane. It's like a fruitcake or an Altman movie.
