Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

P-C, it was when they all were in the airplane hangar, trying to find a plane. The Henchmen we watching the robot attacking the city, and said something like, "Everytime one of them runs, you take a shot." Of course, then they opened a bottle of champagne, making it the frou frouist drinkig game ever.

When we were talking about the stage show after the movie, Debetesse and I discovered that we had both had a Buffista reaction to the movie clips they were showing behind the dancers, which was "OMG, it's TOY STORY slash!"

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Aaha. Thanks, Lee. I may have actually caught those words but didn't put together what they meant. I think I was busy thinking, like someone else upthread, about the similarities to Sky Captain.

Christ on a stick. The Incredibles made over $70 million its opening weekend. This past weekend? Over $50 million. Plus? Its gross is $144 million, which means it's made over $20 million on the weekdays. Man.

If I only had a brain...

Also, the gruesome-looking Polar Express was a big box-office disapopintment: it was outgrossed (as it were) by the second week-end of Incredibles.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Also, the gruesome-looking Polar Express was a big box-office disapopintment:

Christmas classic, my ass!

Wait a minute. Polar Express opened this last weekend?

Brave, but maybe not too bright.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

it was outgrossed (as it were) by the second week-end of Incredibles.

WOO HOO!

Although, the numbers I really want to see are the Incredibles vs Shark Tale ones. Because I want Shark Tale fucking crushed.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Anyone seen Incident at Loch Ness? It sounds fascinating.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

So very glad to hear that Polar Express was a bomb, with the previews apparently being creeptastic enough to warn parents away before their children could be traumatized by UncannyValley!Hanks.
