Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Has anyone here seen the movie Improptu, starring Judy Davis as George Sand and Hugh Grant (pre-fame) as Chopin?

I am having a HUGE case of not-remembering-- There is a scene where Judy hides under the piano while Hugh is playing and is very aroused by the song/playing/Chopin himself. What Chopin piece is playing? I can hear it in my head, but I cannot remember what the name is.

I also really quite liked that movie, and do recommend it to just about anyone-- the cast includes Emma Thompson, Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters as well and they are all wonderful!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I love that movie too, Sophia, but I don't remember the music.

I love that movie too

I bought a VHS copy of it, used, from the video counter at the grocery store where I worked as a teen. Apparently I was the only person who rented it!

I own it too, though it may be on the list of ones I was supposed to send Anne and Kate P months and months ago.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I just added Impromptu to my Netflix queue. Thanks to you folks, my queue is up to 217. Granted, some of those are Farscape episodes, but still. Lucky I've got vacation time coming.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The wonderful thing about Bond casting rumours, is that they can last forever. Propose, nix, deny, suggest. Anyway, Colin Farrell says he's not doing it. He does go on, though:

While he nixed Bond, the 28-year-old actor confirmed that he's considering stepping into the role of police Detective Sonny Crockett for a movie version of the '80s TV drama "Miami Vice."

Hey. New board.

I'm looking forward to Closer, I think, and not just for the Natalie Portman love/lust. The preview article in EW makes it sound really interesting. I am sad that Julia Roberts replaced Cate Blanchett, who I generally prefer, but other than that it looks pretty excellent.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Impromptu was wonderful, but I have no idea what the Chopin piece in that scene was. Sorry!

My quest for the Improptu piece started this afternoon wilst looking up the Victoian use of vibrators brought up briefly in natter. One of the sites had music automatically play for me to listen to while I read about the "hysterical" women. I swear it was the same piece, as I immediately pictured the Improptu scene. I just was proof.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

While he nixed Bond, the 28-year-old actor confirmed that he's considering stepping into the role of police Detective Sonny Crockett for a movie version of the '80s TV drama "Miami Vice."

And Jamie Foxx is rumored for Tubbs. I can only assume Michael Mann is involved, somehow.
