A friend of mine who also got to see it early said pretty much the same thing, that it has less biting, possibly offensive social and political commentary than one might be hoping for, but plenty of dick and fart jokes

Well, I'm glad she's always been classy enough to not say she didn't like working on BtVS. Read between the lines all we like, but she's basically always been politic about it, and that's good. Wise, as well.

This would be one of the many reasons I've never liked South Park despite several occaisions where friends have told me "Come on, you have to watch this specific episode. It's great!" and I listened to them and ended up disappointed and/or sick to my stomach. Just not my brand of humor.
