I've read loads-o-interviews with people talking about his difficultness on set.
I think he's even copped to being one of those director's who throws tantrums when things go wrong or otherwise not his way. Not unusual at all for film directors, actually.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
The whole not screening for critics thing raises an eyebrow. Rotten tomatoes only has 12 reviews as of this moment, and it doesn't look hopeful.

But isn't Brian Singer at everyone's throats?
He seemed on good terms with Jackman at least. Though now that Fox has cancelled his deal, I suppose it's a moot point.
