I was one of those people. Liked the rest of the movie, though. A friend of mine thinks it falls apart because it never explains how Samara is doing any of this, which I think the original one goes more into. She would love it were it not for that. Actually, hold on, she devoted an entire website to it.

The two movies which gave me nightmares were Candyman and Event Horizon. Also possibly Child's Play.
