That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

What I was trying to say was that the movie seemed to me like it had some sort of theme, but I couldn't find it. I wasn't trying to say the movie was not good because it didn't have a theme - I was just wondering if anyone else had some insight that I had missed. Kate, it wasn't so much that I thought the movie needed something as much as I was wondering if I missed the something.

Ah, I see. I don't know if I can give you any great insight into the movie, but for me it was much more about exploring the relationship between Joel and Clementine, which I thought was done really effectively. Memory is an interesting tool in the movie, but I didn't think it was really the point.

Memory is just the MacGuffin - the film is about accepting that relationships are always painful.

Or, in other words, What Jim Said.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Thank Jesus God:

McG (née Joseph McGinty Nicol) has bowed out as director of Warner Bros.' upcoming Superman sequel, citing disagreement with the studio over budgetary roll-backs. Initially, plans called for the film to be shot in New York City, but when Warner Bros. accountants determined that filming in Australia could cut tens of millions of dollars from the costs, production was moved to Sydney. In a statement on Saturday, McG said, "As a filmmaker, I felt it was inappropriate to try to capture the heart of America on another continent."

I'm trying not to burst out laughing at the fact that he called himself a filmmaker.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Do they even have a Superman?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Shia LeBeef (or whatever) says it's going to be an unknown. He's playing Jimmy Olsen.

Of course, this report had Depp as Luthor, so who the fuck knows?

See. I think Pulp Fiction is ALL about a theme. The whole structure of the film is built around Jules and Vincent's choice whether to continue to be evil or to try to do good.

"Where's the Honda?"

"I'm sorry, baby. I had to crash that Honda."

"Who's motorcycle is this?"

"It's not a motorcycle baby, it's a chopper."

"Who's chopper is this?"

"It's Zed's."

"Who's Zed?"

"Zed? Zed's dead."
