So I went to see "King Arthur" today because I am interested in the historical perpec..because the Bruckheimer ouvre has a sweeping...Okay, because Clive Owen is HAWT. Which he was, although the movie was truly idiotic. Some good actors doing their best with horrible clunky lines.
Still, Clive Owen.
I want to slather Clive Owen in olive oil and eat him.
I have issues.

Gunh!
There was a 'sneak peek' of Closer on Access Hollywood. Clive looks very hot in that too. (Clive in skivies!!) Unfortunately Julia was in the scenes with him too. The few seconds they showed made me question if the movie had successfully transitioned from a play.
Sue, the real question is, how was Natalie Portman?
It was only about a minute of clips, but she seemed okay. There wasn't really enough of her to form much of an impression. Besides, between Jude and Clive, I'm surprised I even noticed Julia onscreen.

P-C, I saw a preview of Garden State on the Sundance Channel last night. It looks like she's adorable in that, and she played the Shins for Zach Braff.
Sue, have you seen Clive in Close Your Eyes?
ZACH!

She's terrific in Garden State. She's playing a character type I'm normally not very fond of, but the movie's well-written enough that she's not a cliche, and her performance is really relaxed and genuine. (Her comments to the effect of "It's so nice to be working on a small, character-driven film where I feel valued as an actor" would indicate that getting away from George Lucas has been good for her.)
Oh, I'm totally awaiting
Garden State.
It looks great.

Apparently, as I thought I had a pretty good idea what you wanted to do with him, and this (points up) wasn't it.
