Tim's been iconified by our very own Partyman.

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
For me, procedurals leave the investigator drama out. I never dreamt Tim ever meant to do that, ever.
Good point. I'm sitting here trying to think of a way to delve deeply into characters while still maintaining detachment and not coming up with very much.
They did look like they were trying to appear detached when they were questioning the assistants of the women who died, up until the anal, anyway. That was very funny.
I don't see the handcuffing as assault. His expectations were that he was seducing her, and she was responding. She was in his sex room, and she wasn't frightened by his tools of the trade.
Two things could have happened, in his expectations: First, she could have responded positivly and they would have gone a little further, and maybe took a moment and established a safe word. The second possibilty to him was if she had continued to say no, he might have even taken them off and apologized as misreading her. Maybe he would have inferred for her to think about it and come back when she was ready.
But as Arlo Guthre might have said "there was a third possibility that he hadn't even counted upon." That she would immediately go into real freak out and he would have to try and deal with that, or not deal well with it.
In his mind all the signals were there, and he probably expected one or another outcome. How could he expect the third?

You can get anything you want at S&M Restaurant....
I'm not an expert (much to my dismay) and I could be wrong, but my understanding is that selecting a safe word is pretty much Step A. At the very least it happens well before anyone puts anyone in cuffs.
Assuming that's the case, it's a pretty bright line. Flirting or not, without a safe word he didn't have consent to cuff her.
Danny's doesn't seem to exhibit any emotionally broken behavior-
Danny desperately wants to be someone else. I still see him as a transvestite.
That may just be my private amusement, but it's a hella fun one.
This former dilettante understands it the same way, Trudy.
Well, he did get kicked out of the club.
I'm not saying I would do the same, mind you...
Astarte, I'm in for any eventuality as long as it is funny. Danny has so much potential for the funny.
Okay, I skipped a lot, because i didn't watch the ep until today (grad school is hard.)
My only comments: man oh man do I still like this show. That episode was pretty fricking cool, and I just want more.
The hands of blue totally put me in a Firefly reference mood.
And the cop raped those women in the first case, I'm 96% sure.
If I weren't a bit drunk, and really tired, I'd comment more. But, I still love you, Tim. And I don't even agree with the Rebecca-keeps-ending-up-girl-in-distress-needing-rescuing thing anymore, because she didn't even get rescued this time. She was released. It's a totally different thing, and it had nothing to do with her weak feminineness or anything like that. Not that I ever thought that was there in the first episode, either, actually.
Not sure how I feel about her rather cold "You'll be stronger. Trust me." thing at the end, but then, I'm not sure how I feel about her as a person yet, on the whole. I'm hoping for more insight into her character as the time and episodes go on, and I fully expect it. She's still a mystery, and I like it that way.
