Damn. Where does that leave me? Besides dead?
'Shindig'
The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Dear god. Stacked is horrible. Why can't Fox just give me money to come up with shitty shows?
Didn't get a chance to comment last week, but this episode really hooked me-- and I've never been hooked by a drama on the second episode. Lots of great character interactions, especially the menage a trois in "the sex room" (I'm creeped out just writing that).
And I thought I was so smart getting the L&O obviousness of the doorman as villian and then when the random cop showed up I thought, well, maybe it's him, but there can't be TWO WHOLE VILLIANS and I forgot about it.
D'oh.
Hellos! Well, this ep was everything that I love and was hoping to see. (Of course, I choose the bondage ep to like.) But it wasn't about the sex. Really!
I like the bit where every single line is the characters not talking about what they're talking about. Because that's what really happens with people. We try to exist on this superficial level constantly, but what comes out of our mouths springs from what we're really thinking about, and sometimes tells more than we mean to. And anyway, isn't sex just a great metaphor for all relationships?
I was glad the perp wasn't Club Dude or the Proselytizing Doorman. I got a tad confused about the office search, but that's because my closed captions covered the location scroll.
Of course, I still want more of Danny & Mel, but that's fine, I can wait for that. I really like the relationship dynamics, and I'm so glad that Paul is otherwise committed relationship-wise. I like to see the triangle and the draw be non-conventional. Also, I have a childhood friend Becky who is now a Rebecca and that whole thing just creeps me right the freak out.
Last note, on gender. Rebecca's intentionality is a strong point. It's important that whether or not Paul feels that he is protecting her (and may well be) she is directing the (not to go all Cameron here, but) events that unfold to shape her life. I'm guessing she twigged to Web's personality immediately, but chose to put herself subject to his manipulation because she feels (rightly or wrongly) that she can handle herself.
Could have done with evidence of at least one non-male dom, but hey.
On the pager, though I could still believe it was Web, Rebecca at least participated in the decision by telling Paul she'd call Danny and not calling him. She chose to go in alone.
eta, and also, at least we have evidence of a non-female sub, so, hey again. Hee.
This is torture, me being at work and not able to have watched the East Coast feed waiting for me on my Tivo.
It's nice to have a Minear show back on the air.
KristinT, you are so right.
If Web is Fagan and Rebecca is Oliver, then I think Katie Finneran's character must be the Artful Dodger. Or wait...maybe Adam's character?
Time for bed. With nightlight.
Wasn't thinking of mom when I killed that woman.
Let's hope not. Holidays are complicated enough.

Is Paul Nancy?
Too tired and headachy to catch up on posts but wanted to say one thing and ask a question.
Thing One: Rachel Nichols is very very pretty.
Thing Two: Did they switch up the episode order since last week ? Because the promo for next week is the same promo they showed last week for this week.
Kind of an strange first post, but Kiba Rika: last week's promo was "This season, on The Inside", rather than "next week."
