Wash: Don't fall asleep now. Sleepiness is weakness of character. Ask anyone. You're acting captain. Know what happens you fall asleep now? Zoe: Jayne slits my throat, and takes over. Wash: That's right. Zoe: And we can't stop it.

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"Either it's murder, or this library has a very strict overdue policy."

Ita: Or one killer / week.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's my problem with SVU -- the S was supposed to be for special, but might as well have been for sexual.

But "In New York City, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous." It's not like they aren't up front with it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not like they aren't up front with it.

I'm not claiming to have been conned into watching, or anything. Just that...this week, a woman is raped, and Olivia feels terrible about it, because she's a child of rape. Next week, a teenaged girl will be raped, and the guy will feel awful, because he has daughters. Lather, rinse, repeat, toss in the odd homosexual freakery, and then you're golden.

Or ... BORING.

I've alsoe heard it called "L&O: Rape Is Bad"

That's about all it was for me. Got old for me pretty quickly.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I don't mind a woman being a woman. I get annoyed with each woman being a pussy.

May I tag?

I have thoughts on The Inside and Rebecca's peril. It did give me pause. I think this is ultimately because she's green, and she'll learn and get better. What's interesting to me is that even when Rebecca is tied to the railroad track, she's still strong.

I just have had the benefit of seeing them all laid out, so I know she's not always playing Dawn.

What is even happening?

I watched the SVU Premiere. I never watched again, and I think I got turned off of regular L&O at the same time. By chance, did SVU premiere the same year that Jesse L. Martin started on L&O?

By me, possibly. I don't really watch it, either.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I've also heard it called "L&O: Rape Is Bad"

Now for some reason I'm expecting a show called "L&O: Math is hard."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Now for some reason I'm expecting a show called "L&O: Math is hard."

I thought that's what Numb3rs was supposed to be.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

L&O:SVU is "Crime, This Time It's Personal." This season Meloni's character is separated from his wife, so every crime involving a marriage or an affair or an arguing couple is very angst-inducing. Meloni and Hargitay make it worth watching for me. I like it better than L&O:Criminal Intent, which is "This Guy is SO Smart He Can't Even Hold His Head Upright."
