Mal: Cut it out. Job's not done until we're back on Serenity. Zoe: Sorry, sir. Didn't mean to enjoy the moment.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You really don't want my hair pink. I can go as far as navy, but pink is contra-indicated.

They use both, depending on the market and time of year. And they measure people, not sets.

Block party at Kieyra's Wednesday night!

Eee!

Seriously, the Nielsen rep said 'the week of June 30th', which looking at the calendar is a Thursday. Does this mean televisionland operates on some weird schedule that starts with Thursday? Perhaps I misunderstood and that's around the date I should be receiving my diary. Either way, it seems like I should be 'active' during the July 6th episode. So here's hoping that's a new episode that week.

(For the record, I realize that just being one household during one week isn't an enormous deal, but as a person who's watched so many excellent-yet-struggling shows go down in flames, I'm very excited to be able to help nudge quality television even a tiny bit.)

It's the week before the start of July sweeps.

No, it is. I'd have to do actual math, which I try not to do on the weekends, but I think you probably represent somewhere around 15,000 households.

See, I didn't even know there were July sweeps. Cool!

Oh, wait. You said the week before. Okay, so potentially less cool. But hey, ratings. I'm there.

Yep. There's four: February, May, July and November.

But I just double-checked the dates and I was off. This year, it runs June 30 to July 27. Right when you get your diary.

So is it overly simplistic to assume that the ratings during July will therefore be more important to the network than for the first couple of (June) episodes?

Thanks for all the info, by the way.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I seem to recall August being important at one time, or was I on crack as a youngster?
