The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

tends to use overly long sentences

So is it overly simplistic to assume that the ratings during July will therefore be more important to the network than for the first couple of (June) episodes?

Thanks for all the info, by the way.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I seem to recall August being important at one time, or was I on crack as a youngster?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I had four cups of coffee in an hour earlier.

It might as well have been crack. I was bouncing off the walls.

Remember, kids: real posters use legalised drugs.

I was fine when existence had no meaning. Meaninglessness in a universe that has no meaning -- that I get. But meaninglessness in a universe with meaning? What does that mean?

I bought my friend a cow creamer for a wedding present. She loved the one on Wonderfalls -- I wanted one like that, but Todd said it was a modified vintage one and therefore not available anywhere, so I tried to find one that looked like it had the same kind of personality.

A friend of mine got her hands on a reviewers' copy of the first three episodes of The Inside, and she absolutely loved them. She did a little write-up on the pilot here (it's non-spoilery).

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

That's a great review. Thanks for sharing, Cranberry.

Is it Wednesday yet?

Thrive to spite them

I've skipped like a mad skippy person.

I assume there's going to be a watch and post? I'm fully prepared to haul my tv in the bedroom (vs moving the computer) in order to particpate.

His casting is ironic only if you, like me, recognize the guy not from his long respectable list of credits but as Mandy Moore's preacher dad in A Walk To Remember, which I'm almost ashamed to admit is how I recognized him.

Cranberry, please tell your friend it could be far worse.

She could remember him from The Legend of Billie Jean.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Whee! Saw my first Inside promo tonight, during MADtv. Could Fox be making a joke about the mental stability of the characters, or is it just that the promo schedulers are on crack?

Swouncing

I spent half of Saturday at my parents discussing with my siblings the whole concept of downloading tv episodes from various sources on the net. I even managed to remember a few of the arguments people here were kind enough to raise last year, when I had the same problem with "Wonderfalls". I didn't manage to find a way for the prude me to watch downloaded episodes without feeling guilty about it, no matter how hard I tried to spin an argument, so - at least for now - no "The Inside" for me.

At some point, my brother looked at me and wondered what's going on that made me so interested in this question, all of a sudden. He was not the least bit surprised when my answer was "Tim has a new show that starts Wednesday". He only laughed at me for using a first-name only.

Oh, and I will be, of course, happy to update my little town with watch&post and post-watch-&-post posts (say that three times fast). According to what I've read before, these are the episodes names (Allyson? Kristen? Could you correct me if/when I'm wrong, please?):

New Girl in Town, Old Wounds, Pre-filer, Everything Nic, Loneliest Number, Point Of Origin, Thief Of Hearts, De-Clawed, Aidan, Little Girl Lost
