The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Amy Amatangelo, Zap2It's TV Gal (and my third favorite TV critic), promises to talk about The Inside in her column next Monday.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

"Don' be e-scared"

We sent out review copies with three episodes, The Pilot, Old Wounds, and Pre-Filer, which are the first three episodes. It'll be interesting to see what the critics make of it. "Wonderfalls" was so well reviewed -- and so quickly killed. "Firefly" had really luke warm reviews initially, it's only after the DVDs that people really took a second look. So I'm not sure what I need here other than SOME PRESS so that people who might be inclined give it a few episodes sampling will know it's on.

Anyway, a friend of mine called me last night to say she finally watched "Wonderfalls" on DVD and it's her favorite show. We grew up together listening to Andy Partridge, so that theme was kind of for her. She said she went to a party and people who didn't know she knew me were bemoaning the show's cancellation. It was their favorite show, too. So I popped in the DVDs this morning... hey, it was really good!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

hey, it was really good!

Really is. Firefly also not shabby. Angel? Didn't suck. You sir, are filled with adequatulence.

The evil is this way?

But it's his work on "Buffy" that I love the most.

My days on "Buffy" will always be special to me.

Wow, that sounded porny.

The evil is this way?

That's how we know it's you. Well, that and the killing of characters.

What is even happening?

So I popped in the DVDs this morning... hey, it was really good!
I bought them when they first came out, but it was too hard to start watching them right away. I finally saw Lovesick Ass for the first time. I'd forgotten I read the script for it, after the show was canceled. My word, I love that series. I get irrationally angry that it wasn't given a better shot.

I may have to seize the cat.

I am holding out for the Wonderfalls DVDs as a birthday gift. (Maybe I ought to MENTION them to gift-buying people in the next little bit.)

ETA:

You see, I own a cat. Which makes me a wannabe writer fan.

If I get a beagle, will I become a real writer?!

Some real writers have cats.

and lastly, I want to add that my favorite episode of Buffy is that one Tim wrote, where some people died, and stuff happened. Damn, that episode kicked ass.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I get irrationally angry that it wasn't given a better shot.

Cindy, as usual, is me. Only with more kids and a dead sexy, but doomed hubby.
