Giles: I'm sure we're all perfectly safe. Dawn: We're safe. Right. And Spike built a robot Buffy to play checkers with. Tara: It sounded convincing when I thought it.

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

You guys realize you make me so very excited and curious about a show that's only going to arrive to this side of the ocean in all sorts of not-so-legal I'm-too-prude-to-use ways, right? As long as there weren't any promos, I was just like any of you guys (only I really loved seeing how in-love and having-faith Allyson and Kristen are). Now that there are promos and a date and things start to get real and near, I'm all wait-wait-wait, what about me MeME?

So here's the thing. I'm too curious. The show will just have to be a huge enough hit for some Israeli channel to not only buy it, but also hurry up with showing it to make their eager audience happy. As current events show, it will probably be an extra-payment channel on top a cables package, which I can't afford (we have two cables companies. One just started showing "Lost", the other "Desperate Houswives", and that's considered incredibly fast in Israeli-channels standards). But I'm willing to overlook that "can't afford" aspect, because I'm not that spoiled - I'll find a way, then. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. At least it's better than sighing.

What is even happening?

ION, I know someone who is thinking of spending triple digits on tickets for Serenity and flying me in for the movie. It's kinda a lot for a night at the movies but we've not thrown in the towel. Tell me the movie is good?
Wow, Cass. You'd better wear the WonderBra.

this?
Just don't shoot her. For the love of all that is holy, don't shoot her.
made me snort my water up my nose. thanks for that, Allyson.
Seconded. It's funny when someone tickles my fandom buttons I thought disconnected long ago.

And Tim? Allyson's right. Funny. But right.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The promo from last night is the first one that's really made me want to watch the show. (I'll take Allyson's word for it that the teasers were...accurate, but they really didn't show someone who knows nothing about the show anything to get excited about.) But last night's promo finally made clear the fact that this is a show about characters, which is a big step forward in getting me interested.

I'll be honest -- knowing in advance that they're Tim-characters helps a lot. I don't think I'm this show's target audience. But I think I might like it anyway.

They may also have promos for The Inside during House (i.e. tonight at 9), but I can't confirm that. I think someone upthread mentioned that they did two weeks ago.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

But I think I might like it anyway.

Even if Tim whips out a guitar and sings a countrified theme song?

Actually, I might pay folding money to hear that.

Sumi just posted in the lost thread a link to Zap2It. Lost is being moved to 9pm on Weds. (Alias is moving to Thursday at 8), so right up against The Inside.

Crap weasels.
