Hey! LURKERS! You there. Come on out and tell me if you're convinced.
You had me at "Hey!". I'm convinced.
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

You had me at "Hey!". I'm convinced.
But you're so easy.
Lorelei Gilmore/Det. Olivia Benson/Irina Derevko/Gracie Hart
I'm holding on to that until proven so very horribly wrong.
I would watch whatever msbelle's in charge of making, and that's without even knowing who Det. Olivia Benson is.
Otherwise, it's only my faith in the talents of Tim and Jane and the cast that's going to make me watch. Everything else I've heard makes me less and less and even less interested in watching. But Tim and Jane have earned my trust, so I'm going to wait, and see how it goes. Despite my trepidation, and mild dislike of mysteries, the X-Files, crime dramas, and serial killers.
Just wait until he tells Alvin and Theodore.
Alibelle, I am now revising my character sketch:
Davie Boyle/Jarod/Nell Kellty/River/Det. Robert Goren
Nikita/Clarice Starling/Nancy Drew/Thelma/Daphne
these are making me laugh.
Putting Clarice and Nancy Drew in there makes me have to think Veronica Mars fits in there somewhere.
I'm going to give this show a shot, mostly because of Tim. I'm a mystery fan, but I don't tend to like serial killer stuff.(Home came off as a bit gratuitous to me in its use of gore for shock value)
(Edited to clarify)
The Inside sounds a lot like the first season of Millenium as far as tone, look and subject matter. And I enjoyed that a lot (though some of it was super-creepy and harrowing). But I think I will prefer a larger ensemble cast covering that material so there's more character interaction.
