The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

And didn't The Family Guy DVDs become the top selling TV show DVDs of all time?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Well, go all practical on me. Yeah. It's nice that quality television can come back to life. BUT ONLY IF IT'S CHEAP TO PRODUCE.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Call me when they get renewed.

Okay, they came back to limited animation and then died again.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Family Guy went to Cartoon Network for a while, where it got good ratings. I think that's why Fox picked it up again.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I don't have any hard evidence to back this up, but it seems like there is a lot of internal rivalry between Fox Broadcasting and Fox Productions. Family Guy might not be profitable for Fox Broadcasting, but since it will live forever in syndication (or at least until the pop culture references become stale), it should be enormously profitable for Fox Productions. Internal power struggles seem to determine which half of the business has the upper hand.

Cheers Allyson, and regarding violence I can't see The Inside being cut for UK consumption. And if I was a betting man, I'd say The Inside will be bought by Sky One satellite/cable wise and Channel 5 terresterial wise. UK telly is kinda rubbish here at the moment (apart from Doctor Who) so it will be a very pleasant treat to watch what Mr Minear can come up with.
