I think I sent an e-mail telling Kristen at E! that she was wrong, all wrong, that could never happen. She replied, and well, it's still wrong!
The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
so wrong that I double posted it ...
Dammit! I finished Safety Canary and now I can't watch the next one until I get home from work tonight. That was such a bad idea.
Mine were shipped from New Castle DE 2 days ago. It's only a four-hour drive. I could have just gone and picked them up.
Whoa. Sharon was going to have a baby in the second season?! Oh man. I'm glad that didn't ever come to pass. I really dislike baby storylines, and that one would have been possibly worse than the one on Angel.
No, nothing could have been worse than that. But close.
Matt, I'm with ita, there. I was pretty furious.
My reaction wasn't anger, exactly, but sort of guilty relief that it never got filmed. Maybe Tim would have stepped in and knocked some sense into him if the show had continued?
I like that the show has quirky and unlikely stuff going on, but my read was that if we assume Jaye's tchochkes are only moving and speaking in her head, no violations of natural law are going on.

See, this is so wrong. I'm twenty minutes from there. Where are mine?? Probably Texas.

I don't think I assumed that. That makes her kind of crazy, and I didn't think she was crazy. I thought there was some actual force communicating to her to get things to happen. She was fate's bitch, after all.
In Tru Calling, all the talk of fate was ridiculous because it was stupid for fate to require someone to go back in freakin' time to fix things, but here, there's no going back in time. It's just a force trying to make things turn out the way they're supposed to, the first time.
I thought there was some actual force communicating to her to get things to happen.
Why can't the force speak to her in her head?
no violations of natural law are going on.
It wasn't so much the natural law that squicked me, but the thought that this was supposed to be funny that this woman was impregnated against her wishes.
I would like to think that Tim would have intervened and explained the unfunny to Bryan.
You said something before about Bryan being gay and maybe not getting the how women-folk get pregnant. Were you kidding or do you think the not really having to deal with women sexually means not really having put much thought into the physical aspects of it?
