All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Or the aftermath of the spring shoes malfunction:

The sequence of collisions resulted in systemic physical damage to Mr. Coyote, viz, flatting of the cranium, sideways displacement of the tongue, reduction of length of legs and upper body, and compression of vertebrae from base of tail to head. Repetition of blows along a vertical axis produced a series of regular horizontal folds in Mr. Coyote's body tissues —- a rare and painful condition which caused Mr. Coyote to expand upward and downward alternately as he walked, and to emit an off-key, accordion like wheezing with every step. The distracting and embarrassing nature of this symptom has been a major impediment to Mr. Coyote's pursuit of a normal social life.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Apparantly they have some quality control problems, leading to at least one lawsuit, Coyote vs Acme.

Ha ha ha! That is awesome.

To add to the list of great bits:

Fracture of the left ear at the stem, causing the ear to dangle in the aftershock with a creaking noise.

"Being hungover is like winning the lottery, except they pay you in regret!" - T-Rex

OOOH! I remember there were some disagreements about the correct order of episodes - could somebody link or post the generally decided on correct order (and other orders dictated by powers that be) so we can compare to the DVD order in the box set?

I believe the order was:

1. Wax Lion 2. Karma Chameleon 3. Wound-Up Penguin 4. Pink Flamingos 5. Crime Dog 6. Barrel Bear 7. Muffin Buffalo 8. Lovesick Ass 9. Safety Canary 10. Lying Pig 11. Cocktail Bunny 12. Totem Mole 13. Caged Bird

Can't remember for sure whether Barrel Bear or Muffin Buffalo aired first, but those two are pretty much not going to spoil anything for the other, no matter which order you watch them in.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I understand that FOX will reap what it has sown in terms of viewer loyalty, but the skittishness also punishes the shows. It seems like punching FOX in the kidney but it's the programs that double over.

That's a definite fair point. And I think my definition of "quirky" may not be everyone's. For example, I think the movie of "Silence of the Lambs" counts as quirky (because of some of the secondary characters and casting - the geeky entymologists, Chris Isaak, Charles Napier, etc.) whereas the movie of "Hannibal" is not remotely quirky.

And thanks Edain. The order of the DVDs is 1. Wax Lion 2. Pink Flamingos 3. Karma Chameleon 4. Wound-up Penguin 5. Crime Dog 6. Muffin Buffalo 7. Barrel Bear 8. Lovesick Ass 9. Safety Canary 10. Lying Pig 11. Cocktail Bunny 12. Totem Mole 13. Caged Bird

Did we know Pink Flamingos had been shown two episodes later than it was supposed to be?

See, I would never characterize SotL as "quirky". Eerie, perhaps. Not quirky.

ETA: Though I am about to watch it again so perhaps I will change my mind.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I was going to say something, but then remembered that I defend Natural Born Killers as morally ambiguous.

Yes, you do. You're quirky that way.

No, I get that. It's a damn scary movie. But some of the things that make it unmistakebly the work of Jonathan Demme also seem to me to be "quirky" touches.

I think if "The Inside" has some of the snarky dialog and characterization of other shows Tim's worked on, compared to, say, CSI, it will be on the quirky side for what it is. Doesn't mean it won't be scary.

I hope Fox is into it. Because I think a lot of shows that have died on their vine did so because they didn't like and support them. I remember "Firefly" and "Wonderfalls" ads, but I don't think they pushed them anywhere near as much as shows they did support.

Well, we knew "Karma Chameleon" and "Wound-Up Penguin" were written after the other eleven episodes were to introduce/clear up issues for future storylines, and "Pink Flamingos" had a suspiciously great deal of continuity with "Wax Lion." It probably works better directly after the pilot.
